How to upgrade xArm Studio
(1) Connect the xArm controller to a router with a network cable.
(2) Connect your PC to the same router.
(3) Connect the router to the internet.

(4) Run xArm Studio and connect to xArm.
(5) Click “Settings” - “System Settings” - “Check Update” on the xArm Studio.
(6) Click the “Update” button and xArm Studio will download and update automatically.

How to upgrade xArm firmware:

Hi,

I’m having difficulty downloading an upgrade. I have tried it from
Studio with ‘real robot’ and ‘simulation robot’. The same problem occurs.

As seen in the pictures below, it appears there is an upgrade for the robot firmware
but the “Update” button remains gray and unresponsive.

Did you connect the xArm controller to the internet while you try to update?

Ah … OK … I thought the computer running Studio had to have an internet connection. The controller does too!
I did that and everything worked … thanks!

BTW, we run the robot on a dedicated network which is why there was no internet connection for the controller …

Actually the xArm Studio on your PC is just like a browser, so it could not pass the Firmware or Studio to the xArm controller, that’s why the xArm should connect to the internet.
